Little comes that close to people as a chair. To meet the needs of discerning and demanding customers in the 21st Century, Silver from Interstuhl was conceived with the goals of offering a chair of timeless design with the highest level of functionality and ergonomic excellence, without confronting the user with complex and unnecessary adjustment procedures. Silver is a chair, but it is also more than that: it is a vision, a glance into the future, an approach to life. Every vision of a chair needs a vision of a world in which the chair stands. Put another way, every chair needs a room and every room needs a chair. These are pithy phrases that beg the questions: Why do we need words when the thing itself speaks so clearly? And what can words change if a form doesn’t appeal to us spontaneously? The real class of a chair often doesn’t lie in how much technology it offers, but in how little it requires; and of course in how stylishly it makes it available to its user. The aluminium shell construction is what gives Silver its unmistakable character. All three surface types – brushed, sandblasted or powder coated – accentuate the natural beauty of this high-tech material. High quality manufacturing and first class materials are important ingredients and there are only three adjustments: seat height, back rest stop and weight adjustment: How practical! And how attractive! After only a few years in the market, the Silver range of chairs Continuing a success story The Silver product extension includes: Conference tables, Sideboards with media equipment, Occasional tables, Visitor’s chairs and Lounge seating. The new meeting and conference tables fit seamlessly into the Silver range because their legs and traverses purposely take up the aesthetic of the chair’s frame. Tops are made from varying types of glass making them appear light and transparent, or with wood veneers. The matching Silver sideboard provides storage and is available with a projection screen and a technology package for use in presentations. It may be easily accessed from the rear and has ventilation slits. The small occasional table solves surface space problems in an office or conference room and is ideally suited to complement the Silver sideboards and their media equipment. Occasional tables are square, handy, practical and good looking and height adjustable, making them good standing tables also. Now people can sit down in the new Silver lounge chair that possesses the familiar Silver shell and a new square foot plate. The range also includes a lounge table with the same foot plate and glass tops, thus creating a coordinated ambience of the highest order. A passion for chairs! This European company has won many international design awards Interstuhl’s suggestion to new users of Silver chairs is this: “Feel free! Your body automatically follows the movements of your thoughts and the changing demands of your work which your Silver chair will support in every position. You can find out more on this subject in the prize-winning book: ‘Obsessed with chairs’ that we will send to you at no extra cost upon registering your new chair online.” Silver was designed by Hadi Teherani together with Ulrich Nether and Hans-Ullrich Bitsch. |
