Sometimes I stand but mostly I Sguig!¡¨ ¡V Squig Syncro™ from Keilhauer

Lumbar support and ergonomic task seating go together like a computer and keyboard: you can¡¦t have one without the other. But when it comes to achieving maximum sitting comfort and support, most task chairs on the market do not address the needs of the upper spine, or thoracic region.

Now, to the rescue comes Sguig Syncro, a seating innovation from Keilhauer. Drawing from its extensive research-based knowledge of sitting habits, as well as fundamental ergonomic principles, Keilhauer introduces a general purpose task chair that is ideal for all office areas where desk and computer work are performed. Through Sguig Syncro¡¦s functional design all areas of the user¡¦s back are supported, including the upper spine.

¡§For intensive computer users, upper back and neck strain can become a chronic problem,¡¨ states Mike Keilhauer, President, Keilhauer. ¡§Our mission was to design an innovative and aesthetically-pleasing chair that would address the support and comfort needs of the often overlooked upper body area, as well as the lumbar region. Sguig Syncro meets our highest standards in both functional and design excellence.¡¨

Sguig Syncro incorporates Keilhauer¡¦s two innovative principles that address gender differences in sitting postures.

Pelvic Balance Point? technology compensates for individual sitting balance and center of mass, which is directly related to physical differences between genders. Men often tend to slouch, relying more on the backrest so they have a tendency to sit on the back of their ischial tuberosities (¡¥sit bones¡¦). Women tend sit more upright and forward in their chairs so women tend to sit on the top of their ¡¥sit bones¡¦. The consequence: women feel more upper back pain and men experience lower back pain.

Rather than designing two different chairs, one for each gender, the EOOS designers from Vienna aimed to create one chair that would support both sitting styles. Sguig Syncro¡¦s revolutionary seat and back design accommodates this fundamental difference in sitting tendencies of men and women. This Pelvic Balance Point? design technology allows you to adjust your positioning on the seat in relationship to the backrest for optimum support and comfort.

T1-L5 Free Shoulders? design provides complete support for the spine, and total range of motion for the shoulders and upper body. You will notice the rather unusual lateral curve of Sguig Syncro¡¦s backrest. Sguig Syncro¡¦s innovative back design supports and nourishes lumbar, kidney and upper thoracic areas of the spine, while featuring flexible areas behind the shoulders for unimpeded movement. The T1-L5 Free Shoulders? backrest, named for the T1 thoracic and L5 lumbar vertebrae, mimics and supports the natural curvature of the neutral spine.

The backrest¡¦s curve, more pronounced than other office chairs, discourages slouching and encourages users¡¦ shoulders to open up, to counter the usual ¡¥cubicle hunch¡¦. Your chest expands and you can breathe more air into your lungs which increases alertness and concentration whilst addressing the causes of seating-related muscle pain. And when you lean back, your shoulders open up even more, so you take deeper breaths.

Electro Welding

Sguig Syncro also offers a completely unique and fresh aesthetic appeal. The distinct textile, exclusive to Sguig, is based on new electro-welding technology. The three signature patterns are known as Line, Dot and Squiggle. They are available in 12 colours with coordinating plain seat.

Keilhauer¡¦s long tradition of environmental sensitivity was applied to the design and manufacture of Sguig Syncro. The company makes products out of materials that are recycled or sustainable; last for the longest possible time; and are recyclable. Sguig Syncro is backed by Keilhauer¡¦s 10-year warranty.

Founded in 1981, Keilhauer is a private, family-owned company that designs, engineers, and manufactures office seating, including task and executive chairs, lounge seating and complementary tables, side chairs, and stacking chairs.
