• KSR completes Kaisa Lilang Industrial Park phase 1

    4 July 2013

Building on their existing client relationship and their reputation for design excellence, lead architect KSR China has provided master planning for this 100,000m2 site for developer KAISA Group Holdings Ltd.

KSRThe project runs alongside the emerging trend of development in Shenzhen; it gives a new community of highly specialized industry such as electronics and digital technology as well as corporate headquarters.

The master plan is rooted on the fundamental idea of traditional Chinese courtyard. A railway line separates the site into two segments thus creating the idea of “a courtyard within a courtyard”.

The architecture is a modern representation of urban forest blurring the demarcation between manmade and nature. Phase 2 is due for completion by 2014.

The 280-meter-tall Lumina Shanghai, developed by Henderson Land Group and designed by Gensler, is the tallest skyscraper in the Xuhui Riverside District.

A sophisticated yet modern setting was derived by juxtaposition of Indochine-Vietnamese features and wood-fire inspired material palettes. Re-interpretation of the spatial order of a typical Indochine-Vietnamese mansion has been adopted to give hierarchy, layers and details to the space.
