• New Office Term of the Council 2017

    The Hong Kong Institute of Architects pleased to announce the accession of Mr. Marvin CHEN as the President of the Institute for biennium 2017 – 2018.  Marvin will be supported by his two Vice Presidents Mr. Ivan HO Man Yiu and Mr. Felix LI Kwok Hing.

    Mr. Marvin CHEN (President 2017-18)

    As Fellow of the Institute since 2005, Marvin joined the Institute in 1988 after he graduated from The University of Hong Kong.  Marvin is the Founder and Director of AMQ Ltd./ Amasia International Design Group.  Starting from 2000s, he has been active in serving various Board and Committees of the profession, including the Honorary Secretary of HKIA (2013-2014), Chairman of Architects Registration Board (2014-2016), and Chairman of Board of Educational Affairs (2015-2016).  He is also a Class I Architect in PRC. Marvin is a passionate professional with a wealth of practical experience of over 30 years in architectural design, project administration and management in Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China.

    Marvin was supported by his two Vice Presidents in 2017 – 2018 :

    Mr. Ivan HO Man Yiu (Vice President 2017-18)

    Ivan graduated from the University of Hong Kong and is currently the Founder and Director of IvanHo Architects.  He has taken up many key positions in HKIA, including the Chairmanship of the HKIA Board of Practices (2009-2010) and Board of Local Affairs (2015-2016) respectively.  He is also the Chairman of Professional Green Building Council (2015-2016) and a Vice President (Local Affairs) of Hong Kong Institute of Urban Design.

    Mr. Felix LI Kwok Hing (Vice President 2017-18)

    Felix graduated from the University of Liverpool, UK and is currently a Director at TFP Farrells (Hong Kong).  He was the Chairman of HKIA Board of Mainland Affairs (2013-2014) and Deputy Chairman of Board of Educational Affairs (2015-2016).  He has also been a key project co-ordinator of the Institute in successfully carrying out two government funding projects in relation to the research and comparison of architect’s roles, law and regulations, taxation systems between Hong Kong and Mainland China.

    The new term will take office starting 1st January 2017.
