• Swire celebrates naming of Pacific Gannet in Japan, its first G-Class supply vessel

    Shipowner and operator, Swire Pacific Offshore Operations Pte Ltd has celebrated the naming of its first G-Class supply vessel in Japan, the Pacific Gannet.

    The naming ceremony was held at the Japan Marine United Corporation Yokohama Shipyard. The G Class series is the latest addition to the company’s fleet and was developed to meet the increase in demand for supply vessels. The company operates a diverse fleet of 88 offshore support vessels, including anchor handling tug supply vessels, platform supply vessels, ice-breaking supply vessels, anchor handling tugs, seismic survey vessels, wind farm installation vessels, accommodation barges and multi-purpose offshore vessels. As part of a fleet expansion plan, the company hopes to have 100 vessels by the end of this year providing service to the offshore oil and gas industry.

    The 280-meter-tall Lumina Shanghai, developed by Henderson Land Group and designed by Gensler, is the tallest skyscraper in the Xuhui Riverside District.


    A sophisticated yet modern setting was derived by juxtaposition of Indochine-Vietnamese features and wood-fire inspired material palettes. Re-interpretation of the spatial order of a typical Indochine-Vietnamese mansion has been adopted to give hierarchy, layers and details to the space.
