The industrial sector has been the traditional driver of the Hong Kong economy and as the city continues to evolve, industrial space has transformed to provide a strong platform for the logistics and trade industry. In the past decade, Colliers has seen the emergence of data centres, cloud computing and more recently from self-storage, catering, and advanced manufacturing. Colliers Research believes the industrial sector will be a key component to support Hong Kong’s more diversified economy going forward.

“We are taking decisive action to invigorate growth and strengthen our capabilities in our industrial business. While there may be macroeconomic factors that influence the industrial market in Hong Kong, we are confident that new opportunities are emerging and will generate a positive outcome for the business,” said Nigel Smith, managing director, Colliers International Hong Kong.

To meet this opportunity, Terence Wong has joined the firm as executive director of Industrial Services, Hong Kong and brings 18 years’ experience working with JLL, C&W and most recently Midland Group, where he was the Top Leader from 2012 to 2015. He has overseen investment sales, large MNC relocations and sole agency assignments for developers. Key clients include Sun Hung Kai Properties, CSL, UPS, Guess, Chevignon, HAECO and Revlon. Terence holds a degree from Middlesex University in the UK.

The firm took additional steps to strengthen Colliers Hong Kong’s existing industrial platform, with three others coming on board at the same time, taking the team up to six specialists. Joining Terence are Tony Lam, Paul Leung and Kenny Chow, all of whom bring a wealth of expertise and knowledge.

“Terence is a significant addition to our leadership team and will leverage our enterprising and creative spirit to grow our industrial business. With his proven track record and deep relationships we are confident to become a market leader in industrial properties. We look forward to working with the whole team as we develop innovative solutions for both new and existing clients,” said Smith.
