    23 November 2011

Benoy is honoured to announce the company has received four Awards at this year’s ICSC Asia Pacific Shopping Centre Awards. All four schemes received acclaim in the category ‘Innovative Design and Development of a New Retail Project’. Benoy’s iconic and multi-award winning Shanghai ifc mall situated in the heart of the Pudong financial district took the Gold Award.

With direct links to the iconic Pearl Tower, the new MTR station and views of Pu River and The Bund, Shanghai ifc mall is a fitting landmark for a city with global ambitions. Benoy’s Interior Design for the 84,500m² retail development was inspired by opulence – realising the elegance and drama of cut gems the design makes a visual play between angles and curves achieving a breath-taking result.

Benoy won Silver Awards for Central Festival in Pattaya, Thailand, Palace 66 in Shenyang in north-eastern China and for Yueda 889 in Shanghai. “These four very different retail developments manage to balance striking aesthetics with commercial viability, creating dramatic new destinations for Asia,” stated  Trevor Vivian, Director of Benoy Shanghai.

The 280-meter-tall Lumina Shanghai, developed by Henderson Land Group and designed by Gensler, is the tallest skyscraper in the Xuhui Riverside District.

A sophisticated yet modern setting was derived by juxtaposition of Indochine-Vietnamese features and wood-fire inspired material palettes. Re-interpretation of the spatial order of a typical Indochine-Vietnamese mansion has been adopted to give hierarchy, layers and details to the space.
