(11 October 2017, Singapore) Martijn van Eldik has joined global real estate consulting firm JLL as Head of Funds Advisory, Asia Pacific. His appointment is part of the company’s strategy to grow its capital raising and investment advisory capabilities globally.
It follows those of Matilde Attolico and Zeynep Fetvaci who joined JLL in July as part of the Global Funds Advisory team out of the firm’s London office.
Mr van Eldik is based in Singapore and reports to Stuart Crow, head of Asia Pacific Capital Markets, and Ms Attolico, head of the funds advisory team globally. Mr van Eldik has 16 years of experience in real estate private fund structuring and equity capital raising. He started his career in the Netherlands but has spent most of his career in Asia. Prior to working at Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing, he held senior roles at ING Real Estate Investment Management and CBRE Global Investors.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome Martijn into the JLL fold,” says Stuart Crow. “He has a great track record in raising private capital. We see a tremendous opportunity to assist global capital sources access the Asia Pacific region, either in traditional fund formats, or in a range of joint venture or partnership structures. I look forward to working with him closely as we continue to build up the suite of services we offer our clients, providing global connectivity and expertise in cross border capital trends.”

Broader range of services for clients worldwide
The new Global Funds Advisory team combines JLL’s three existing regional funds advisory and placement teams. It works with fund clients across the world to provide support and strategic counsel on raising capital for real estate investment opportunities. Clients include investment and fund managers, institutional investors, property owners and other participants in the institutional real estate market.
Matilde Attolico says: “The investment landscape is shifting globally and at JLL we are well placed to help clients navigate the complexities and tap into new opportunities. We’re growing our team with talent like Martijn in order to offer clients a compelling combination of market-leading advice, expert project management and global distribution.”
“We believe we have something truly unique in the funds advisory space that a traditional investment bank or boutique placement agent can’t offer. What’s key to clients is that we have a team that knows real estate inside out. It’s our core business and we have deep insights and expertise that you won’t find in most investment banks. We also have deep global connectivity and a scale that boutique placement agents can’t replicate,” she adds.
As well as providing comprehensive funds advisory services, JLL has been growing its bench of senior level experts in the areas of debt capital, corporate finance and M&A advisory. Fergal Harris joined in May 2017 as head of debt capital for Asia Pacific and now leads a team of experts across the region.
