(30 January 2012, HONG KONG) – Pacific Place presents its “Year of Joy” Chinese New Year decorations to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Dragon. To wish its shoppers wealth and happiness for Chinese New Year, Pacific Place arranged an auspicious eye-dotting ceremony as well as a thrilling dragon and lion dance parade today.

Mr. Martin Cubbon, Chief Executive of Swire Properties, Mrs. Elizabeth Kok, General Manager, Retail of Swire Properties and Mr. Christopher Heywood, Senior Portfolio Manager of Swire Properties officiated at the ceremony with Mr. Jean-Baptiste Debains, President of Louis Vuitton Asia Pacific and Mr. Thomson Cheng, Managing Director of ImagineX Group. The vivid dance troupe staged an eye-grabbing performance wishing business partners and customers of Pacific Place a prosperous Chinese New Year. Event emcee Rabee’a Yeung was clad in a stunning dress from the latest Vivienne Tam “Double Happiness” collection.

The two symbolic icons, with magpie expressing happiness and good fortune, and bamboo representing virtue and longevity, were incorporated into delicate seasonal flower decorations, which convey best wishes for shoppers for the year ahead.

To align with the unique theme, Pacific Place had earlier invited the Taiwan Bamboo Orchestra to make its debut performance in Hong Kong. The novel group performed a selection of famous tunes and many traditional Chinese New Year songs with brand new musical arrangement.

Pacific Place is committed to offering its customers a quality retail experience. In the coming year, Pacific Place will continue to bring on countless surprises and delights.
