• Property Market Executives and Investors Converge at MIPIM Asia 2011

    17 November 2011

Hong Kong, November 17, 2011 – Today 1,800 senior real estate executives, retailers, government officials and city administrators from 41 countries finished business discussions at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre signalling the conclusion of MIPIM Asia 2011. Assembled by international trade show organizer Reed MIDEM, the conference hosted the brightest in the Pacific Rim property market.

“In its sixth edition, MIPIM Asia has confirmed that it is the international event for major real estate companies operating within the region or seeking to work internationally with Asia Pacific players,” commented MIPIM Asia Director, Filippo Rean.

Summing-up the mood at Asia Pacific’s leading real estate gathering, Justin Chiu, Executive Director, Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited (HKSAR) said, “MIPIM Asia has come of age this year.” Additionally, the final day of the conference saw Carrie Lam, Secretary of Development of the HKSAR Government, hosting a Hong Kong-themed lunch for over 60 leading real estate executives. During her presentation, the Secretary outlined plans to increase office space supply in Hong Kong in order to maintain and sustain growth for the city’s foreseeable future.

A notable theme throughout the conference was the goal to increase investment opportunities for international companies targeting Mainland China as legislation seeks to loosen the market.

MIPIM Asia will return to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in 2012.
