[Hong Kong – 15 October 2025] – The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) is pleased to announce that the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors Awards 2026 (the HKIS Awards) is now open for application.
Over the years, surveyors have played a key role in Hong Kong’s construction industry, not only in ensuring the smooth implementation of projects, but also in innovating and responding to changes and challenges in the industry.

This biennial award aims to commend and showcase the outstanding contributions of surveyors while enhancing their professional image across various sectors of society. The HKIS Awards briefing session held today attracted around 40 participants, including the professional judging panel composed of industry leaders and government officials.
With the theme “Surveying for Innovative Solutions,” this year’s award aims to recognise the contributions of surveyors who lead the industry towards future development through innovative thinking and professional practice. The HKIS Awards 2026 focus on breakthroughs in applying innovative technologies in cost management, risk control, asset management, and project management, promoting overall improvements in industry efficiency, quality, and transparency. The “HKIS Excellence in Surveying Award” will be presented to the project which is judged to be of the best overall quality amongst all the Gold Award winners.
Sr Robin LEUNG, President of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, stated: “The HKIS Awards represent more than just a symbol of honour; they provide a platform for mutual learning, sharing, and encouragement to further elevate the professional standards and social recognition of the surveying industry.”
Sr Francis LAM, Chairman of the Organising Committee for the HKIS Awards 2026, said: ” With the theme “Surveying for Innovative Solutions”, the awards aim to encourage surveyors to utilise innovative thinking and professional knowledge, and to apply new technologies and methodologies to address the industry’s evolving challenges. Behind every successful project lies the insight and cross-disciplinary collaboration of a professional team, and it is this spirit of innovation that drives continuous advancement in the surveying profession.”
Sr LAU Chun Kong, JP, Jury Panel Convenor of the HKIS Awards 2026, remarked: “Innovative thinking is an essential element for surveyors to meeting industry challenges and sustaining development. By recognising projects with strong innovation, we hope to set benchmarks for the industry and create positive impacts for society.”

The HKIS Awards 2026 Briefing Session
The HKIS Awards 2026 is open to all types of development projects within Hong Kong SAR, including Residential, Commercial, Government, Institution or Community (GIC), and Industrial projects. Both new and existing projects are welcomed. The Awards focus on the use and application of surveying knowledge and/or professional expertise throughout the project development cycle, encouraging surveyors to achieve project success through creative and innovative technology applications.
