• Second Round Construction Industry “Anti-epidemic Fund” Opens for Workers’ Applications

    The second round of the Construction Industry “Anti-epidemic Fund” (the Fund) provided by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region is open for applications from workers today and will end on 31 August 2020.


    The second round of measures are to provide further assistance to construction workers (a subsidy of HK$7,500) hard hit by the current epidemic. Eligible construction workers must have possessed valid construction workers registration cards or designated construction-related qualifications with valid registration documents between 1 January 2019 and 8 April 2020. In order to speed up the process, workers granted the first round of subsidy will be automatically carried over to the second round of subsidy and need not re-submit. They will receive the second round of subsidy through the same submitted bank accounts.

    Workers who possessed valid construction workers registration cards but without Daily Attendance Records between 1 January 2019 and 19 February 2020 can apply for the first round (extension) subsidy of HK$1,000, together with the second round subsidy of HK$7,500 as one go from today onwards.

    Eligible workers have to download the updated“Safety App” mobile app, fill in the information and upload all required documents to apply, including a Construction Workers Registration Card Number/relevant registration numbers, HKID, contact number, and personal bank account information with proof which is under the same name of the applicant. After receiving and verifying all the information, the CIC will directly deposit the subsidy into the applicant’s bank account through auto-payment within four weeks.
