• The Chief Secretary for Administration To Officiate at the Grand Opening of HKIA REVEAL 2 Exhibition – For the City.

    (9 September 2016, Hong Kong) To celebrate the 60th anniversary, The Hong Kong Institute of Architects will present the spotlight event of its 60th Anniversary celebration: REVEAL 2 Exhibition – For the City. For the Community. + − × ÷ from 10th September to 7th October, 2016 at the ArtisTree, Taikoo Place. Over 90 HKIA members will present their talents and creativities in all aspects across different channels. The Institute had invited the honourable Mrs. Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, GBM, GBS, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSARG to be the officiating guest to officiate the grand opening of  the exhibition.

    At the official opening ceremony, Mrs Carrie Lam, The Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSARG, GBM, GBS, JP, who is also an honourable member of HKIA, was joint by other officiating guests including Mr. Wong Kam-sing, GBS, JP, Secretary for the Environment of the HKSARG, Mr. Vincent Ng, JP, President of The Hong Kong Institute of Architects, Ms. Corrin Chan, Chairman of REVEAL 2 Exhibition – For the City. For the Community. + − × ÷ Organizing Committee, Ms. Mabelle Ma,  Director, Development and Valuations of Swire Properties, Dr. Rosman Wai,  Chairman of HKIA 60th Anniversary Organizing Committee, Mr. Humphrey Wong, Vice-Chairman of REVEAL 2 Exhibition – For the City. For the Community. + − × ÷ Organizing Committee and Mr. Tony Ip, the leader of curation team of REVEAL 2 Exhibition – For the City. For the Community. + − × ÷ joint hands to complete the feature wall by inserting the  REVEAL2 plaques into the reusable metal grid to unveil the exhibition.

     

    Photo 3AMrs. Lam also attended a guided tour led by Mr. Vincent Ng, JP, The President of The Hong Kong Institute of Architects and Ms. Corrin Chan, Chairman of REVEAL2 Exhibition Organizing Committee before the opening ceremony. She visited one of the architect exhibitors, Mr. Wong Kam-sing, GBS, JP, Secretary for the Environment of the HKSARG who also showcases his artwork for this exhibiton. Riding on the success of REVEAL Exhibition in 2013, Mr. Vincent Ng, JP, President of The Hong Kong Institute of Architects expected REVEAL 2 Exhibition – For the City. For the Community. + − × ÷ expressed his high graditite to the members’ commitment and artistic and creative energies for putting together the finale event of the Institution for general public. “The 2016 marks the 60th anniversary of HKIA and our focus is on “Contribution to Community”, we are proud to announce that the main theme of REVEAL 2 Exhibition is “For the City. For the Community”. REVEAL 2 emphasizes on our fellow architects’ contributions in relation to the social and physical fabric of Hong Kong.”

     

    Ms. Corrin Chan, Chairman of REVEAL2 Exhibition Organizing Committee conveyed her desire of bringing to light the fundamental bond between Architecture and People, “Through their design and artwork; architects could contribute to address different issues of our community and propose innovative solutions through their unique observations and interpretations.”

    REVEAL 2 Exhibition – For the City. For the Community. + − × ÷ will open from 10th September to 7th October, 2016 at ArtisTree, 1/F, Cornwall House, Taikoo Place, 979 King’s Road, Quarry Bay. During the month long public exhibition at ArtisTree, the Hong Kong Institute of Architects will organize a series of interactive talks and workshops in the weekends. The public is invited to participate and  dialogue with architects toenjoy architecture. Admission are free for all programmes.
