Singapore, 4 September 2015 – The Building and Construction Authority (BCA), in celebration of SG50 and commemoration of a decade of green building journey, added 50 trees to Bedok Town Park on Friday September 4.
The special event was aimed at offsetting the carbon footprint of events held during the Singapore Green Building Week (SGBW) 2015, and was part of the “Clean & Green SG50 Mass Tree Planting” initiative by the National Parks Board (NParks). The event was jointly organised with BCA’s strategic partners for the SGBW 2015, namely Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC), Reed Exhibitions and Marina Bay Sands (MBS).
Among the 90 tree-planters were also representatives from various sponsors of the SGBW 2015, members of the BCA Green Mark Advisory Committee, as well as representatives from firms of the built environment sector and BCA.
The SGBW 2015, comprising 24 events held over the week with the participation of over 30,000 participants from more than 55 countries, will conclude on Sunday September 6.
