    4 November 2025

Hong Kong, 3 November 2025. The 20th edition of Eco Expo Asia was successfully held from 28 to 31 October 2025 at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong.

Jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, and co-organised by the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), this milestone event attracted over 11,000 buyers from 118 countries and regions and featured some 340 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions.

This year marked the 20th anniversary of Eco Expo Asia, celebrating two decades of commitment to showcasing cutting-edge innovations and fostering global dialogue on sustainability. The 2025 edition showcased a diverse range of solutions across three key focus areas: Circular Economy & Waste Management, Green & Smart Mobility, and ESG-related services. Over the past two decades, the event has evolved from spotlighting traditional green technologies to becoming a leading global platform for ESG-driven innovation and sustainability solutions.

Exhibitors and buyers alike praised Eco Expo Asia 2025 for its ability to drive meaningful connections and catalyse business growth. Ms Natasha Wong, Senior Communications Manager (Hong Kong & Macau), Veolia Hong Kong Holding Ltd, highlighted the importance of the event in promoting her company’s solutions. “This year’s visitor turnout was very encouraging, allowing us to engage with several clients from the Chinese Mainland who expressed interest in collaboration. Given the limited number of exhibitions in Hong Kong focused on environmental technologies, participating in Eco Expo Asia each year is important for us.”

Mr K Y Tang, Senior Manager – Purchasing, Herald Metal & Plastic Works Ltd, visited the show to explore sustainable options for toys, “With growing concern for the environment, it’s crucial for us as a toy manufacturer to explore more environmentally-friendly materials. Our customers are increasingly seeking eco-friendly options, and this exhibition has been an excellent venue to discover innovative solutions and meet like-minded suppliers.”

This year’s edition welcomed participation groups and pavilions from 13 countries and regions, including Canada, Italy, Korea, the Netherlands and Norway, alongside regional pavilions representing Inner Mongolia, Hunan Province, Shanghai and several cities within the Greater Bay Area. Among the new exhibitors was Dipperfox, an Estonian company making its debut in the Asian market. “Eco Expo Asia has been a fantastic experience so far,” Mr Joel Bezzaborkin, Sales Manager, Dipperfox, remarked. “The event is very well-organised, with seamless logistics and excellent support from the organisers, making it easy for us to focus on showcasing our products. We’ve had great conversations, including with a representative from city maintenance services, our target market. Eco Expo Asia feels like the perfect launch point for us in Asia.”

Mr Amish Choksey, General Manager, GreenGood Eco-Tech.FZCO, travelled to the show from Dubai to explore innovative solutions that could address the growing demand for green technologies in the Middle East. Sharing his experience, he said, “I’ve had productive discussions with suppliers in the food composting and sustainable packaging industries, and I’ve discovered promising advancements in energy storage solutions. The fair’s variety and strong government-driven sustainability initiatives in Hong Kong really stand out.”

Global pavilions showcase cutting-edge environmental innovations
Newly added this year, the Korea Pavilion highlighted advanced solutions across critical environmental sectors, such as air purification systems, innovative water treatment technologies, and waste-to-resource solutions. At the pavilion, Mr Kwangsuk Choi, Director of Sales Team, Kinava Co Ltd introduced hybrid hydrothermal carbonisation technology, which converts organic waste into biofuel and biochar. “This is our first time exhibiting at Eco Expo Asia, and I have already met with several buyers from Hong Kong and Argentina. The fair serves as an international hub for sustainable industries, connecting us with clients from around the world, particularly from the Chinese Mainland.”

Meanwhile, the returning Canada Pavilion featured a diverse range of cleantech and green building innovations, including intelligent building systems, advanced waterproofing solutions, biological wastewater treatment, and compact indoor farming technologies. Mr Moustafa Naiem, Founder and CEO, Resiliocs Intelligence, a first-time participant from Canada specialising in climate data and risk analytics commented on this year’s edition,

“Many visitors are aware of the challenges posed by climate risks, and we’ve had insightful conversations, including with government officials working on related projects. The flow of visitors has been strong, and the event is a great opportunity to gauge market appetite and build meaningful partnerships.”

Eco Asia Conference drives global dialogue on sustainability

The Eco Asia Conference brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and academics to explore solutions for a greener future. The conference highlighted the circular economy, net-zero buildings and green and smart mobility. Mr Robert Dijksterhuis, Dutch Envoy for Sustainable Building, spoke at the session “Re-inventing Business Operations with a Circular Approach” as part of the conference. Sharing his experience, he remarked: “This is my first time at Eco Expo Asia, and I’m truly impressed by its vibrant atmosphere. I’m here with the Netherlands trade mission, representing eight companies interested in business opportunities in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland. Hong Kong is a key hub for circular investments, making this the perfect place to explore innovative solutions and new ways to tackle challenges.”

The 6th Hydrogen Economy Forum explored the transformative potential of hydrogen energy in promoting sustainability across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, addressing challenges in adoption, environmental management, and liquid hydrogen safety standards. It discussed innovations such as converting urban organic waste into hydrogen, underscoring its role in driving clean energy solutions. One of the speakers, Ir Edmond Fong, Head of Gas Network Operation & Engineering Construction at The Hong Kong and China Gas Co Ltd, commented: “Hydrogen technologies present significant potential for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Even after six years, this forum continues to connect the entire industrial chain, advancing hydrogen adoption and fostering regional collaboration.”

At the Exhibitor Forum, Ms Amy Ho, Senior Global Marketing Manager of Greenwich (China) Technology Development Ltd, presented “From Seaweed to Solutions: A Clear Window to Sustainable Envelopes & Packaging.” Highlighting the forum’s value, she noted: “We needed a platform to showcase our new offerings and engage with the audience, and forums like this facilitate communication with a larger group, sparking more ideas compared to one-on-one booth interactions. The diverse mix of exhibitors here creates a dynamic environment that attracts a strong and engaged audience.”

The session “Moving Green Power Station: How SANY’s Energy Storage Vehicle Delivers On-Demand and Reshapes the Energy Supply Model” attracted a diverse audience, including Mr Zhiyuan Yi, a recent graduate from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. “Learning first-hand about advanced energy supply models, such as energy storage vehicles, has been truly eye-opening and extends beyond any textbook knowledge.”

The show is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and co-organised by the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

The next edition of Eco Expo Asia will take place in late October 2026 at AsiaWorld-Expo, Hong Kong. For more information about the fair, please visit www.ecoexpoasia.com
