• A History of Hospitality by Leigh & Orange

    23 May 2017

Leigh & Orange’s lineage in hospitality design stretches back to the early 1930s when the firm completed the Gloucester Hotel in the heart of the Central Business District in Hong Kong. This was designed for renowned developer Hong Kong Land to be one of the most up-to-date and luxurious hotels in the Far East. Since then, L&O has been involved in a variety of lavish hospitality projects, such as the landmark Mandarin Oriental Hotel in 1964, which is often rated the best hotel in the world.

L&O’s knowledge of the hospitality industry includes hands-on experience in hospitality operations, as well as unique insights‭ ‬into the delivery of guest experience and meeting operators’ needs.

Flexible design approaches from inside-out help deliver a successful accommodation of every unique hotel development to support the comfort of guests at work and rest.

    Tower H

“Tower H” is a hybrid building with a blended programme of retail, serviced apartment, hotel, residential apartment, villas and a clubhouse. Situated between a low-rise development on top of an existing metro maintenance depot to the east and a major boulevard to the west, the form of Tower H frames the doorway between Qianhai district and Shenzhen City.

The southern tower consists of residential apartments and 8 units of sky villas at the top. Whereas a 17-storey serviced apartment fills up the lower portion of the northern tower, a 250-room boutique hotel and a prestigious sky club occupy the upper portion. Through an exclusive driveway and elevated hotel drop off area on podium deck level, an intriguing spatial journey starts from the ground winding to the sky lounge at L34. This lobby lounge is linked to the sky club, featuring a restaurant in a floating glass box, an indoor swimming pool and rooftop garden. The club spans across a 50m long sky bridge, bringing in spectacular vistas of Qianhai and also forming an amalgamated gesture for the district.
