The company was the only developer and multinational corporation, from Hong Kong and Mainland China, to be included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index, consolidating its position among global sustainability leaders in the real estate industry. Swire Properties has been listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia Pacific Index since 2015.

Swire Properties was also recognised by Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark, an investor-driven organisation that assesses environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance of real assets globally.  The organisation gave Swire Properties a GRESB 5-star rating, its highest category of sustainability performance, indicating that the company is among the top 20% of the 850 property companies, REITs, funds, and developers that participated in the assessment. GRESB also named Swire Properties the Global Sector Leader in the Other – Mixed-Use Development category.

In Hong Kong, Swire Properties was recently named one of the top three overall sustainability performers – among all industries – in the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index (HSSUS), a first for the company. This is the third year that Swire Properties has been included in the HSSUS.

Guy Bradley, Chief Executive of Swire Properties said, “We believe in advocating and adopting a philosophy of responsible development, and the recognition by these two global sustainability indices, the DJSI World and GRESB, as well as the prominent HK-based HSSUS, strengthens our profile as a sustainable development leader in our industry.”

“As we continue to integrate sustainability into every aspect of our business through our Sustainable Development (SD) 2030 Strategy, we are confident that this strategy will help bring long-term value to all of our stakeholders, including the communities in which we operate.”
