Knight Frank is pleased to announce the appointment of Esther Liu as Director and Head of Research & Consultancy, Greater China, effective immediately.
Esther joins Knight Frank with over 15 years of experience in property research, capital markets and investment analysis across Asia Pacific. Most recently, she was Director and Team Lead for Property & Conglomerates Ratings at S&P Global Ratings, where she led coverage of Greater China real estate. She also led research in REITs across Hong Kong SAR, the Chinese mainland, Japan, Singapore and Australia. Prior to S&P, she held research roles at Standard Chartered Bank and BNP Paribas, as well as a corporate strategy position at China Vanke.
A respected industry commentator, Esther’s research and views have been featured in international media, including The Wall Street Journal and CNBC, and her work has been cited by senior policymakers in China. Fluent in Cantonese, Putonghua, English and Japanese, she brings a unique blend of analytical rigour, regional market knowledge and strong communication skills. She holds a Master’s Degree of Design Studies in Real Estate Finance and Development from Harvard University, and began her career as an architect, bringing a unique multidisciplinary perspective to the real estate industry.
