Rider Levett Bucknall took home three merit awards from the Hong Kong Quality Building Awards in the non-residential new building and Hong Kong building renovation or revitalisation categories.
The three projects were the Pacific Place Mall Contemporisation Project, the Urban Renewal Authority’s Revitalisation Project at Mallory and Burrows Streets in Wan Chai, and the Victoria Park Swimming Pool Complex. The Pacific Place project was the single largest transformation of retail mall renovation project in Hong Kong, and included an upgrade of the arcade interior, modernising common areas and external works areas, and the introduction of a purpose-built restaurant and café. The URA’s Revitalization Project in Wan Chai saw the conservation and adaptive reuse of a cluster of 10 Grade 2 historic buildings. The Causeway Bay swimming pool complex meets international standards for aquatic sports contests.
