• Sean Wang, Managing Director, North China of Cushman & Wakefield, appointed as Chairman of RICS China Board

    (5 March 2018, Hong Kong) The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) announces Sean Wang FRICS, Vice President Greater China and Managing Director North China of Cushman & Wakefield, was selected as Chairman of RICS China Board, effective March 1 2018.

    The RICS China Board is a board composed of external non-executive directors and RICS Executives aimed to provide consultancy and advisory council to RICS in China.

    Mr Pierpaolo Franco, RICS Greater China Managing Director, commented, “I am delighted to welcome Sean as the new Chair of RICS China Board.

    This is a very important role in supporting our global professional body strategy. I am sure that Sean, combining his outstanding experience both in the international and domestic market and with his rich knowledge in the built environment will be an amazing asset. I believe he will help me shape and lead the board of professionals of the RICS China to provide valuable market insights, in-depth thought leaderships contribution and support on standard adoption & stakeholder engagement.”

    Sean Wang said, “RICS and myself share the same vision to shape the built environment for a better future. I am very passionate about bringing more value to the land, construction and property markets in China. It is exciting for me to chair the RICS China Board to contribute my experience and thoughts on local market for the China Board to help raise the recognition for the profession in the region.”

    Sean has a rich portfolio in real estate investment, valuation, and asset management. Having worked in commercial and residential real estate in both the US and China, Sean is an expert in real estate finances and has been a pioneer of real estate investment funds in China. Sean joined DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield) in 2011 and has been the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of North Asia.

    In July 2014, Sean was appointed to the role of Managing Director, North China, and later Vice President, Cushman & Wakefield, Greater China, overseeing the management and all aspects of the business of the company’s offices in northern China including Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao, Xi’an, Dalian, and Shenyang. Prior to joining DTZ (now Cushman & Wakefield). Previously, Sean was the CFO and Executive Director of a real estate fund. His career also included spells at KPMG and a number of major financial institutions, including J.P. Morgan Chase and HSBC. Sean is an experienced business executive in both China and the US. He is also a US CPA and a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
