• SJ Showcases AI-Powered Digital Twin Strategy at Construction Industry Council Master Talk

    10 February 2026

SJ, a provider of urban and infrastructure solutions, recently showcased its pioneering expertise in data-driven asset management at the CIC Master Talk webinar, “Harness the Power of AI for the Construction Industry.”

Organised by the Hong Kong Construction Industry Council, the event convened public clients, developers, contractors, consultants, and tech firms to explore the practical application of AI and robotics across project delivery, infrastructure, and asset management.

Teo Say Leng, Executive Director of Digital Technology Services, Integrated Solutions at SJ Group, presented the company’s forward-thinking approach to data-driven facilities management. He detailed how the team is leveraging AI-optimised digital twins to fundamentally reshape how large-scale campuses and precincts are planned, delivered, and operated for asset owners.

“The greatest performance gains come when data from buildings, utilities, public spaces and infrastructure is integrated, providing estate-wide visibility that supports resilience, operational efficiency and better day-to-day decision-making,” said Mr Teo.

His discussion outlined three pivotal shifts enabled by an integrated digital delivery approach, crucial for owners of large, multi-building environments:

    1. From Standalone Buildings to Connected Campuses: Moving beyond siloed structures to an integrated ecosystem where data fusion across the entire estate unlocks superior operational intelligence and resilience.
    2. From Static Handover to Predictive Operations: Utilising AI-enabled digital twins built on unified data from building systems, safety infrastructure, and sensors to transition from reactive monitoring to predictive and coordinated facility management.
    3. From Operations Back into Design & Engineering: Closing the loop by feeding real operational performance insights back into upstream planning and design, resulting in campuses that are more maintainable, energy-efficient, resilient, and user-centric.

This integrated digital delivery approach ensures a connected intelligence layer throughout the entire asset lifecycle, linking design, construction, and operations seamlessly.

The session underscored that for owners and operators of campus-scale environments, the integration of digital twins, AI, and unified data is no longer optional but foundational. These technologies are critical for enabling smarter investment decisions, enhancing asset performance, and creating more sustainable, human-centred places.

For over 75 years, SJ and its member companies have turned foresight into form and function through urban, infrastructure and managed services consulting. Through its business lines, it builds clarity into complexity, identity into infrastructure, character into skylines and insights into the future.
