Farah Naz, SJ’s Global Climate Advisory Director, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the WorldGBC.
The appointment strengthens SJ Group’s engagement with global industry platforms and reinforces its role in supporting clients to navigate evolving climate and sustainability requirements, from advisory through to implementation.
With cities and communities under increasing pressure to move from climate ambition to implementation, addressing this gap requires governance frameworks, investment-ready project pipelines and the ability to translate strategy into bankable, implementable solutions.
Farah brings 25 years of international experience across four continents, spanning the UK, US, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. At SJ, her work covers decarbonisation and climate resilience projects from buildings to large-scale urban developments, with a focus on helping governments, cities, developers and investors embed climate action into infrastructure, masterplans and investment portfolios.
SJ’s Global Climate Advisory Director, Farah Naz, is one of two leaders within Singapore’s Green Building Council’s network, reinforcing Singapore’s continued contribution to advancing climate action and sustainable urban development globally.
Farah Naz, Global Climate Advisory Director, SJ Group said, “It is an honour to serve on the WorldGBC Board at a time when the built environment must respond decisively to climate challenges, moving beyond target setting towards implementation and, increasingly, regenerative outcomes. At SJ Group, our focus is on helping clients navigate this transition by aligning policy, investment, design and delivery to unlock outcomes that are sustainable, investable and scalable. I look forward to working with fellow Board members to advance approaches that support cities and organisations in delivering long-term environmental and social value, accelerating climate funding into real projects, and championing innovation that is inclusive, human-centred and responsive to the needs of cities and communities.”
Farah joins Mr Hugh Lim who has been re-elected for a new term as a member of the WorldGBC Board. Their appointments reflect the increasing prominence of Singapore in global climate and sustainability leadership.
Yvonne Soh, CEO of the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) said, “For over a decade, SGBC member organisations have been represented on the WorldGBC Board of Directors. We are proud to see this continue with the election of Ms Farah Naz and Mr Hugh Lim. Having two leaders serving concurrently reflects the growing recognition of Singapore’s approach to systemic transformation and sustainable urban development, from tropical climate solutions to
integrated policy frameworks and industry collaboration. This continued presence allows SGBC to further our contribution to a more sustainable and resilient built environment globally.”
