Twin Lighting Fairs showcase top-tier technologies and gather international industry leaders
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will hold a press conference tomorrow (29 September) to introduce its four flagship electronics and lighting industry fairs taking place in October: the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition), electronicAsia, the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition), and the Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo.
Last week the Hong Kong SAR Government announced Hong Kong’s First Five-Year Plan and Policy Address 2026, which outlined strategies to consolidate and enhance Hong Kong’s status as an international trade centre, expediting the city’s development into an international innovation and technology centre, and advance the application and development of artificial intelligence (AI). The rapid growth AI is driving sustained global demand for electronics products, semiconductors and smart devices. The electronics industry is a key pillar of Hong Kong’s economy, accounting for nearly 75% of the city’s total exports in 2025. From January to July this year, Hong Kong’s total exports of electronics products increased by more than 50%, reflecting how AI and high-tech industry development is creating new momentum for trade growth. This year’s Autumn Electronics Fair will focus on how AI is accelerating industrial upgrading and helping businesses capture opportunities in global markets.
Rapid advances in AI technology are driving its integration into smart homes, education, industrial applications and interactive entertainment, creating new opportunities for the electronics industry. This year’s fair will feature several highlight zones, including the brand-new Future Industries Zone (FIZ), an expanded RoboPark and the Hall of Fame, showcasing the latest AI applications, robotics solutions, immersive entertainment technologies and innovative R&D achievements. The fair will bring together innovative technology companies from Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland and overseas markets. Exhibitors will include selected representatives from the much-discussed “Hangzhou’s Six Little Dragons” and “Shenzhen’s Eight Great Guardians of Embodied Intelligence”, as well as high-growth technology companies seeking to expand into overseas markets through participation in the fair. The event will highlight Hong Kong’s important role as a bridge between Chinese Mainland and the rest of the world, helping enterprises connect with international markets.
The electronicAsia exhibition will showcase advanced electronic components, semi-conductors, sensors and various manufacturing technologies, demonstrating how the electronics supply chain is adapting to AI development and digital transformation and helping the industry seize opportunities arising from the next wave of industrial upgrading.
As a premier annual event for the global lighting and lighting products industry, the twin lighting fairs will feature a diverse array of thematic zones and activities, highlighting the integration of smart technologies, sustainability, design aesthetics and lighting applications. Renowned brands and exhibitors involved in signature projects such as the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and The Museum of the Future in Dubai will be featured. This year, the Autumn Lighting Fair will introduce the new LED Display Solutions Zone, showcasing the convergence of lighting technologies and LED display applications. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo will focus on outdoor, commercial and industrial lighting products and technologies, covering applications for smart cities, landscape and architectural lighting, as well as photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage solutions.
Among the products being exhibited will be smart poles that have already been successfully deployed in Hong Kong, with approximately 70,000 units installed to date, showcasing the achievements of smart city development. The two fairs will also collaborate with internationally renowned lighting authorities and industry leaders to present a series of thematic seminars, product launches and networking events, jointly shaping the future of the lighting industry.
At the press conference, representatives from the HKTDC and the industry will share the latest developments in the electronics and lighting sectors as well as the strategies being adopted by businesses amid the evolving global trade environment. Some exhibitors will provide live demonstrations of innovative electronics products, smart solutions and latest lighting technologies. Robot performances will also be featured on site as part of the media preview, showcasing key highlights from this year’s exhibitions and future technology trends. Among the featured exhibitors is UBTECH ROBOTICS, one of the “Shenzhen Eight Great Guardians of Embodied Intelligence”, which will showcase its Walker C1 humanoid robot in a live waltz performance.
The 46th Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and 29th electronicAsia will be held concurrently at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 13 to 16 October. The 28th Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Autumn Edition) will take place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 27 to 30 October, while the 11th Hong Kong International Outdoor and Tech Light Expo will be held at AsiaWorld-Expo from 26 to 29 October.
