    15 October 2026

Initial portfolio of five assets target Seoul students seeking affordable offerings

Invesco Real Estate (IRE), the global real estate investment business of Invesco Ltd., today announced that it has launched a purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) operating platform in Seoul, South Korea with PCP Standard.

The platform launches with an initial portfolio of five PBSA assets adjacent to Korea University, one of the nation’s largest and most prestigious institutions of higher education. The assets were recently acquired by IRE and comprise three forward purchase transactions and two development sites that will deliver over 400 beds across a gross floor area of approximately 80,000 square feet. The platform targets to significantly further scale its portfolio across major universities in Seoul.

Accommodation offerings will primarily target domestic Korean students with affordable purpose-built living options, differentiated from the existing limited supply of higher-priced accommodations.

“Seoul has over half a million students, one of the world’s largest populations, yet on-campus housing options are limited, and purpose-built student accommodation is virtually non-existent,”

said Jason Choi, Funds Management Director, Invesco Real Estate.

“We are proud to deliver comfortable and economical living solutions for Seoul’s underserved student population. Our ability to access and execute this opportunity reflects the strength of our local operation and the longstanding relationships developed by our Korea team.”

PCP Standard, Korea’s first PBSA specialist backed by Silicon Valley-based Altos Ventures, will operate the portfolio. The platform aims to expand through a pipeline of opportunities and establish what is expected to become South Korea’s largest institutional-quality PBSA portfolio. By partnering with PCP Standard and Altos Ventures, IRE aims to combine global institutional capital with local operating expertise to deliver high-quality and affordable student housing at scale across the country.

“This platform launch aligns with IRE’s stated strategy to target Asia Pacific’s burgeoning living segment, a high-conviction theme with a long investment horizon,”

added Calvin Chou, Head of Asia Pacific, Invesco Real Estate.

“We continue to expand our presence across the opportunity set in the region, building on our established capabilities in senior living, land-lease communities, affordable accommodation and multi-family housing in Australia, China, Japan and Korea.”
