17 September – Arup welcomes the Chief Executive’s 2025 Policy Address and its continued commitment to shaping a resilient and innovative Hong Kong. As a global leading expert in build environment industry, we are encouraged by the Government’s focus on long-term strategic planning and cross-sector collaboration.
The Northern Metropolis continues to be a cornerstone of Hong Kong’s future. Arup supports its transformation into an innovation hub and a dynamic engine of economic growth, underpinned by integrated infrastructure, smart mobility, and climate resilience. We are proud to contribute our expertise in engineering, master planning, project management, and digital services to help realise this vision.
We also commend the government’s proactive steps in developing the low-altitude economy. This emerging sector offers transformative potential for urban air mobility, logistics, and connectivity. Arup sees it as a strategic chance to reimagine infrastructure and regulatory framework that support innovation while ensuring safety and sustainability.
Theresa Yeung, East Asia Managing Principal at Arup said:
‘Hong Kong’s ambition to develop the low-altitude economy and position the Northern Metropolis as a strategic innovation hub is both timely and forward-looking. At Arup, we see this as a chance to rethink how infrastructure can support emerging industries and community needs. Our focus is on translating these aspirations into meaningful impacts – through inclusive design, smart systems, and collaborative delivery.’
The 2025 Policy Address also reinforces Hong Kong’s role in the Greater Bay Area and its integration into national innovation strategies. Arup is committed to supporting these efforts through insight-led design, strategic advisory and innovation.
As Hong Kong embarks on this next chapter of reform and development, we look forward to working with government, different sectors, and academia to shape a more resilient, inclusive, and globally competitive city.
