AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering services and nuclear company, has appointed Steve Vincent as Global Market Lead – Power to support the company’s growth in this strategically important market.
The appointment comes at a time of significant change across the power sector, driven by rising electricity demand, the growth of artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure, increasing investment in generation and grid networks, and the need to deliver secure, reliable and affordable energy systems.
Power is one of AtkinsRéalis’ core markets, with capabilities spanning generation, transmission and distribution, grid modernisation, energy storage, renewable energy and advisory services. This includes hydropower, a field in which the company has significant experience – its first hydro project was launched in 1911, and since then, AtkinsRéalis has worked to develop more than 275 GW of hydropower, equivalent to roughly one-fifth of all global capacity from the energy source.
Notable projects in the portfolio, which is separate from AtkinsRéalis’ Nuclear business, include Poland’s first offshore wind project by Baltic Power; transmission and distribution projects such as the Champlain Hudson Power Express line from Quebec to New York; and the Protos Carbon Capture and Storage project and energy storage initiative Dragon LNG Digital Twin, both in the UK.
AtkinsRéalis is also helping modernise critical grid infrastructure through projects such as the Tinsley Park Substation Upgrade and supporting National Grid’s engagement with local communities.
The Global Market Lead role is focused on aligning AtkinsRéalis’ power capabilities across regions, identifying opportunities for growth, and supporting clients in planning, designing and delivering complex energy infrastructure programmes that underpin economic growth, energy security and decarbonisation objectives.
Kate Kenny, Chief Growth Officer, AtkinsRéalis, said:
“Power is a critical growth market for our business, with governments, utilities, developers and major technology companies around the world investing at unprecedented levels to expand generation capacity, strengthen grid infrastructure and meet growing electricity demand.
“Steve will play a key role in bringing together our global capabilities, helping us deepen client relationships and ensuring we are well positioned to capture opportunities arising from the continued growth of digital infrastructure, data centres and the wider energy transition.”

Steve Vincent noted:
“I’m delighted to be joining AtkinsRéalis as Global Market Lead – Power, at a pivotal time point in this industry’s evolution.”
“Across the world, the power sector is entering a period of unprecedented change and challenges, but that also brings exciting opportunities.”
“The pace of investment and expectation across generation and grid infrastructure is ramping up due to heightened demand – not least due to AI expansion – with all regions needing secure, reliable energy systems.”
“I’m very excited about the journey ahead and looking forward to working with our teams across the world to support market leading value creation for clients, stakeholders, and end users alike.”
He joins AtkinsRéalis with more than 20 years of international experience in the power sector. Based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, he has held a range of senior leadership positions, most recently serving as Global Power Generation Market Director and Energy & Power Global Delivery Leader at Jacobs.
