• AtkinsRéalis Partners with Singapore EMA to Strengthen Nuclear Expertise

    29 October 2026

AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering services and nuclear company, has signed a Manpower Development Agreement with the Energy Market Authority of Singapore (EMA) to support the development of Singapore’s nuclear energy capabilities and expertise.

As a partner of the Singapore Nuclear Manpower Development Programme, AtkinsRéalis will provide opportunities for Singapore public officers involved in energy development to undertake placements of up to one year in the United Kingdom, working alongside AtkinsRéalis’ nuclear specialists and developing practical insight into the planning, governance and delivery of nuclear projects.

Kelly Trice, Executive Vice-President, Global Services, Nuclear at AtkinsRéalis, said:
“Building nuclear capability requires more than technical knowledge alone. It demands an understanding of the governance, regulatory frameworks, safety culture and delivery disciplines that underpin successful nuclear programmes. Through this agreement, AtkinsRéalis will provide Singapore public officers with exposure to these complexities and deepen participants’ understanding of how nuclear projects are planned, licensed and delivered safely and effectively.”

The programme will provide participants with exposure to real-world nuclear projects and environments, complementing technical knowledge with practical insight into the delivery of complex nuclear programmes. Site-based experience is expected to form an important part of the programme, reflecting EMA’s focus on building a deeper understanding of nuclear project delivery in practice.

Puah Kok Keong, Chief Executive of EMA said:
“As Singapore studies whether advanced nuclear energy technologies can be a future energy option, building our capabilities in nuclear energy, including developing the technical knowledge and understanding of how projects are delivered in practice is an important part of this journey. This partnership will allow our public officers the opportunity to learn directly from experienced nuclear professionals and gain exposure to live project environments. We appreciate the support of AtkinsRéalis in sharing their expertise and experience, which will help enable Singapore to build the depth of capability needed to assess the potential role of nuclear energy in our future energy mix.”
