• Kai Tak Sports Park Kicks Off Grand Opening Month with Kai Tak Art Week

    19 March 2025

(Hong Kong, 17 March, 2025) The Grand Opening of Kai Tak Sports Park (KTSP) marks the beginning of “Hong Kong Super March”. A series of exciting events will take place throughout the “KTSP Opening Month”, encompassing arts and culture, sports events, and a food carnival, offering an unprecedented and diverse experience for both local residents and visitors. Whether you are an art enthusiast, a sports fan, or a foodie, you can immerse yourself in a vibrant city celebration that combines sports, cultural arts, and entertainment at this new landmark.

Every year in March, Hong Kong brings together a variety of distinctive art exhibitions and events. From 21 to 27 March, KTSP will debut its inaugural “Kai Tak Art Week”, presented by HSBC in the celebration of its 160th anniversary and fully supported by AXA Hong Kong and Macau. Inspired by the theme “Hundred Senses”, the Art Week will feature a series of heartfelt and diverse artistic experiences, including artists’ panel discussions, art workshops, and a weekend artistry bazaar, allowing the public to immerse themselves in a rich cultural atmosphere and collectively experience the boundless charm of art.

To promote the integration of sports, arts, and lifestyle experiences, KTSP has collaborated with renowned international and local artists and design studios, including Chinese sculptor Ren Zhe, Australian artist Dominique Sutton, emerging local artists Law Ting, Leung Hin Chun and Wu Millie. Together, they will present a series of unique art installations in various corners of the Park. Each piece tells a distinct story, thoughtfully woven into Kai Tak’s rich history, and people and events that shape the Park. This offers local residents and visitors an inspiring journey where art, culture, and history intertwine. Whether you are an art enthusiast or a first-time visitor, everyone is invited to partake in this creative and diverse artistic celebration during the Art Week, embarking on an unforgettable experience, where artistic innovation meets captivating storytelling.

    • Public Art Installations – KTSP presents 10 public art installations in collaboration with renowned international and local artists, each inspired by Kai Tak’s rich history and the stories behind it. Every piece embodies a unique artistic concept, seamlessly blending art, history, sports, and community. These installations further reinforce KTSP as a vibrant cultural destination, inviting visitors to explore the dynamic intersection of heritage and contemporary creativity.

    • Artistry Creative Bazaar – The Central Square at KTSP will transform into a vibrant creative hub, featuring nearly 50 market stalls offering handcrafted goods, designer pieces, pet- related products and artisanal creations. Whether you are looking for unique keepsakes or simply indulging in a weekend of artistic inspiration, this market is a must-visit for lovers of creativity and craftsmanship.

    • Panel Discussions – A two-day series of panel discussions will feature in-depth conversations with renowned artists, architects, and cultural leaders centered around three key themes: “Art& Culture,” “Art& The Outdoors,” and “Art& Mindfulness”. These sessions will offer deep insights into how KTSP weaves art, nature, and human connection, shaping it into a destination where sports, creativity, and community come together.

    • Art Workshops – Engage into 9 immersive workshops where you can interact with artists directly and co-create unique artistic experiences. Step into the outdoors to explore the beauty of public art, while embracing well-being through creativity. Whether you are actively participating in the creative process or simply soaking in the fusion of art and nature, these workshops offer a journey of self-discovery and inspiration, inviting you to explore the endless possibilities of art and life at KTSP.
