The Vocational Training Council (VTC) and BytePlus Pte. Ltd. (BytePlus), a leading enterprise-grade technology solutions provider, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly nurture future design and innovation talent. Through the partnership, the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), a member institution of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), will work with BytePlus to explore collaboration in creative technology, curriculum development, content innovation and international engagement.
The partnership marks BytePlus’s educational collaboration with HKDI and represents a significant step in advancing future-focused design education. By bringing together industry expertise and applied learning, the collaboration aims to equip students with emerging skills and provide opportunities to transform creative concepts into real-world projects.
Under the MoU, HKDI and BytePlus will collaborate across three key areas: creative artificial intelligence (AI) cooperation, platform enablement and curriculum support; generative content creation and short-form digital marketing initiatives; and AI-driven creative projects.
Through these initiatives, students and staff will gain greater exposure to industry practices, cross-disciplinary collaboration and professional networks, strengthening the connection between education and industry.
Advancing Future-Focused Creative Education
As one of Hong Kong’s leading design institutions, HKDI is committed to combining creativity, applied technology and professional practice to prepare students for an evolving creative economy.
Since 2023, HKDI has actively explored the integration of emerging technologies into teaching, learning and creative production. Through industry collaborations, applied projects, and curriculum innovation, students are encouraged to move beyond theoretical learning and develop solutions to real-world challenges.
The collaboration with BytePlus will support HKDI’s strategic development in future-facing technologies, enabling new opportunities for curriculum enhancement, professional development, industry participation and applied research while reinforcing VTC’s “Think and Do” approach to education.
