• HKRI Taikoo Hui’s Shopping Mall Opens its Doors with Exclusive Star Wars Exhibition

    (4 May 2017, Shanghai) HKRI Taikoo Hui, the last major development in Shanghai’s Puxi central business district, began welcoming guests today to its shopping complex, who explored some of the newest international brands to debut in the city and Mainland China, while also enjoying the extensive “Force Everywhere” HKRI Taikoo Hui * Star Wars Theme Exhibition. Located on Nanjing Road (West), this mixed-use project comprising a shopping mall, two premium Grade-A office towers, two hotels and one serviced-apartment building, is set to be an iconic lifestyle destination and a premium business address in Shanghai.

    A joint venture between Swire Properties and HKR International, 90% of the retail space at HKRI Taikoo Hui has already been leased, with the shopping complex offering around 250 fashion, lifestyle, beauty and accessories brands, and 45 eateries. The shopping mall has also dedicated over 10 event spaces to host exceptional activities and events. To showcase the development’s dedication to offering world-class experiences, HKRI Taikoo Hui has partnered with The Walt Disney Company (China) Ltd to be the sole host of the HKRI Taikoo Hui * Star Wars Theme Exhibition in Mainland China. 

    Running from today until 18 June, the Star Wars-themed exhibition features a giant X-wing starfighter, life-size Stormtroopers, and a Hot Toys Millennium Falcon’s cockpit model, as well as an interactive VR area. The different elements of the Exhibition can be found throughout the mall, and immerses visitors in the world of Star Wars like never before.

    Retail & Dining Experiences – Highlights 

    HKRI Taikoo Hui features an array of retail outlets and eateries, with several brands launching their debut or concept stores in Shanghai or Mainland China for the first time. 

    Guests can shop for high-end fashion jewelry at SWAROVSKI, while also exploring a rare art installation at the brand’s flagship store. A freshly brewed cup of coffee at the 2,700 sqm Starbucks Roastery and Reserve Tasting Room – the first in Asia, will be the ideal break before guests head over to Space Cycle, a yoga and spinning studio from Taiwan, for some intense and fun exercise.

    For an exceptional dining experience, guests can enjoy the offerings at Little Nanyang, Grandma’s Home – Time Travel, the brand’s first fine-dining eatery. Guests seeking more F&B and shopping can head over to the 4,000 sqm city’super concept store for cooking lessons using a wide array of the freshest ingredients, or to explore foods from around the world. A host of international fashion brands such as BAOBAO ISSEY MIYAKE, Sandro men, Ted Baker, Max&Co, Adidas, Nike, lululemon and CK Performance offer a dynamic spectrum of apparel; Kiehl’s, Caudalie, Shu Uemura and others make up over 20 standalone beauty offerings, to name but a few.

     As guests enjoy their shopping sprees, they can recharge or take a break in the vast S-shaped atrium which is lit by natural sunlight streaming through the immense glass roof; adding a special touch to an already unforgettable experience.

     

    Office Towers & Hotels – Highlights 

    The two office towers will be home to a mix of domestic, regional and international corporations, including several Fortune 500 companies who have chosen HKRI Taikoo Hui as their Asia Pacific and Mainland China headquarters. To date, 70% of the total office space has been rented out.

     HKRI Centre One opened its doors in December 2016, with 4,000 office workers commuting to the new heart of the Puxi CBD each day; while tenants have begun moving into HKRI Centre Two since April 2017. 

    Both of these office towers were built with sustainability in mind and are among the few commercial buildings in Shanghai to have been pre-certified for a LEED® Platinum rating. 

    A mixed-use development, HKRI Taikoo Hui also comprises two hotels and one serviced-apartment building, for a total of 400 plus rooms. The hotels and apartments will be launched later in 2017

    HKRI Taikoo Hui will officially launch in October this year.
