[6 August 2025] Hongkong Land and adidas today jointly announced that adidas, a global leader in sports, will be moving into Westbund Central, Shanghai, taking up an entire office block of 32,400 sq. m. (approximately 348,750 sq. ft) across 18 floors with handover in Q1 2026 and full occupancy by Q4 2026.
Encompassing approximately 1.7 million sq. m. of prime mixed-use property, Westbund Central is the Group’s largest-ever single investment, strategically located at Shanghai’s Xuhui Waterfront.

“We have confirmed 79,000 sq. m. of office take up at Westbund Central in the last 12 months which is more than any other developer in the market.” Excluding business parks, this lease transaction is one of the largest in the Grade A office market in Shanghai since 2023.
adidas will be relocating its Greater China headquarters to Westbund Central, Shanghai, taking up an entire office block (central building in photo) of 32,400 sq. m. (approximately 348,750 sq. ft) across 18 floors in Q4 2026 (full occupancy).
The new office will accommodate more than 1,500 employees and include various facilities for staff such as a whole-floor gym. The office is also conveniently located near the adidas RUNBASE – the brand’s first 24/7 public running hub in China. This landmark venue has served as Shanghai’s premier running destination for over a decade, offering professional-grade amenities and services that deliver exceptional experiences for runners. Its ongoing operations actively contribute to Shanghai’s development as a world-class sports capital.

As one of the plots in Westbund Central that will house adidas’ new Greater China headquarters, this area encompasses 79,000 sq. m. that integrates office and serviced apartments, fuelling the area into a vibrant and multi-use neighbourhood.
The new headquarters will also fulfil the brand’s commitment to creating a sustainable, digitalised, active and collaborative workplace. Adidas is one of four major organisations to move into the first phase of Westbund Central – a 1.7 million sq. m. mixed-use district looking onto the riverbank of the Huangpu. Hongkong Land will build 650,000 sq. m. of Grade A office space set across 12 buildings which will feature cutting edge design, premium amenities and facilities and curated hospitality management. The futuristic office buildings will contribute to a vibrant West Bund district where “Experience is central.”
