• Knight Frank is awarded the Platinum Label in the Low-carbon Office Operation Programme (LOOP) Labelling Scheme 2010/11

    20 December 2011 (Hong Kong) – Knight Frank has been awarded the Platinum Label in the Low-carbon Office Operation Programme (LOOP) Labelling Scheme 2010/2011 organised by WWF. The Platinum Label is the highest accolade under the scheme. In the past year, Knight Frank achieved a significant 9.7% reduction in carbon emissions per staff. 

    Mr Norman Tsoi, Group Operations Officer of Knight Frank, said “We are proud to receive the Platinum LOOP Label as it recognises Knight Frank’s spirit and efforts in actively making its office a greener place. This is the 2nd consecutive year in which we have participated in the LOOP labelling scheme to address the challenge of climate change. As a property consultancy firm, a keen understanding of the lifecycles of buildings and experience in driving resources and cost efficiencies is very valuable and we believe it is important to practise what we preach.”

    Knight Frank has a well-regarded reputation and proven track record in environmental protection. The company has obtained ISO 14001 and US Green Building Council accreditations. Also, its Building Consultancy team practises the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system in its projects throughout China, providing the firm with on-the-ground experience in PRC environmental standards and regulations.  

    Knight Frank has been supporting a number of local and international environmental groups in their environmental protection initiatives. Its Green Committee led by senior management has established a set of green policies and practices throughout its diversified operations.

    Knight Frank employees have supported a wide range of corporate social responsibility activities including an internal recycling programme, Earth Hour 2011, Charity Walk for Nature 2011, and Christmas visits to the Po Leung Kuk Orphanage. These initiatives have collectively earned Knight Frank the Caring Company logo.

    The BEAM Affiliate Education Programme aims to equip participants with knowledge in green building. Now, over 1,400 practitioners have become certified "BEAM Affiliate" after completing the training programme organised by BEAM Society Limited.
