Rosana of Yau Lee Group, accompanied by a six-person delegation including representatives from the Innovation & Technology Department as well as subsidiary GVDC, recently attended the 2026 APSARA Conference in Hangzhou. The three-day conference (21/9–24/9) provided participants with an in-depth exploration of trends in cutting-edge technology and a first look at upcoming innovative products and practical solutions.
Under the theme “Intelligence Goes Beyond”, this year’s main venue was divided into four exhibition halls: “The Intelligence Engine”, “The Compute Foundation”, “The Creator Studio”, and “The Industry Panorama”. Rosana was invited to attend the opening ceremony and the keynote session, listening to insightful presentations by Alibaba Group CEO Eddie and CTO Dr. Fei Fei Li, who highlighted that AI models, AI chips, and AI cloud services will serve as the three core pillars for building the future. Meanwhile, “Agentic AI” emerged as the most heated topic at the event. AI is no longer limited to passively answering questions; instead, after accurately understanding a goal, it can autonomously break down tasks, plan steps, and call upon various tools with minimal human intervention to complete work efficiently. Furthermore, Rosana believes that Compute Capacity, Token Counting, and Electricity Consumption constitute the second foundational layer, while precise Domain Knowledge serves as the third.
After the conference, Rosana visited the “Ugly Things Art Exhibition”. Many of the seemingly bizarre and unusual “ugly items” on display originated from sudden bursts of creative inspiration. Once these works were seen and recognized by the public, the creators were able to further develop character intellectual property, establishing a stable visual language and product system. This marks a shift for non-mainstream aesthetics from fragmented personal expression toward systematic, long-term operations capable of effective monetization, perfectly exemplifying what one speaker described as “1 minute to amaze, 70 minutes to connect hearts.”
The spark between the APSARA Conference and the creativity of the “Ugly Things Art Exhibition” brought Rosana profound inspiration regarding AI and smart construction. Whether through the flipping of beauty and ugliness or the collaboration between humans and artificial intelligence, the ways we understand and build the world are being reshaped. As singular definitions of traditional aesthetics and value break down, the rise of Agentic AI signifies that technology is no longer merely executing one-way instructions, but engaging in sustainable two-way co-creation with human.
