• BEC EnviroSeries Conference Stock-takes Hong Kong Climate Action to Propel Net-zero Progress

    31 May 2024

(31 May 2024, Hong Kong) Business Environment Council Limited (“BEC”) held its flagship event BEC EnviroSeries Conference with the theme “Stock-taking Hong Kong’s Climate Action: Business Progress, Barriers and Accelerators” at Cordis Hotel, Hong Kong on 30 May. The Conference was held in hybrid mode, attracting over 800 in-person and online participants including government representatives, business leaders, entrepreneurs, industry experts, academics and other interested participants from Hong Kong and abroad.

Mr Kevin O’Brien, Chairman of BEC, said, “The Paris Agreement has set in motion a critical review of global climate action, and businesses around the world are taking a hard look at their own progress and challenges. We have brought together government officials, policymakers, industry experts, and business leaders to take stock of where we stand. Throughout the discussions, we are able to identify the barriers that are hindering faster climate action, and more importantly, uncover the catalysts that can accelerate our progress.”
