• AtkinsRéalis sets the stage for further growth in Asia with strategic leadership appointments

    (13 March 2024, Hong Kong) AtkinsRéalis (TSX: ATRL), a fully integrated professional services and project management company with offices around the world, has strengthened its executive leadership team in Asia with the appointment of Kelvin Cheng as Managing Director, Transportation and Water. Based in Hong Kong, Kelvin joins the leadership team in Asia along with Richard Poulin, Managing Director, Industrial, and Sam Pang, Managing Director, Buildings and Places, to support AtkinsRéalis’ business growth and expansion plans in Hong Kong and the wider region.

    Kelvin is a seasoned executive with over 30 years’ experience leading flagship multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects in the public sector, from investigation, design, tender to execution and final delivery phases. As part of his role, he’ll focus on elevating AtkinsRéalis’ transportation and water business into its next phase of strategic growth, strengthening relationships with existing and new clients in Hong Kong and Asia. His in-depth industry expertise covers railways, highways, and urban development projects. Most recently, he was an Executive Director at AECOM within the transportation and land supply business in Hong Kong. Some of the key projects he led include the Sha Tin New Town development, San Tin Technopole and Wetland Conservation Park Study under Northern Metropolis Development Strategy, widening of Tai Po Road, development of Anderson Road Quarry Site, Express Rail Link – West Kowloon Terminus, and Central-Wan Chai Bypass. Kelvin holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Structural Engineering from the Hong Kong University and has been a Corporate Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers for over twenty five years.

    Richard Poulin was appointed Managing Director, Industrial in Asia in August 2022 after leading the business in China. Under his dynamic leadership, AtkinsRéalis provides comprehensive end-to-end services for the industrial sector including engineering design, procurement and construction management across diverse industries such as pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals, advanced technologies (EV battery and semi-conductors), chemicals and petro-chemicals, food processing, green energy and sustainability. During his tenure, Richard has successfully led a number of flagship projects such as STA in Singapore, Hong Kong Integrated Waste Management Facilities Phase 1 Modular Prefab, Umicore Fuel Cell Catalyst Plant Project and Lord Chemicals Shanghai Plant Expansion.

    Sam Pang was appointed Head of Buildings and Places, Asia in April 2023. Sam has 40 years of experience in the design and project management of multi-disciplinary, major infrastructure and special projects in Asia Pacific. His expertise cover railways, buildings, highways and tunnels, airports, facility management of public utilities, container terminals, power and water and waste-water treatment plants. Sam’s key projects in Asia include the power asset replacement of three operating railway lines, upgrading work for three refuse transfer stations and the Integrated Waste Management Facilities Phase 1 MEP Design in Hong Kong. Under his leadership, AtkinsRéalis also won the competition for theEnvironmental Protection Department refuse transfer stations, the Construction Logistic Plan (CLP) term consulting, Airport Authority Capital Works team consultancy.
