The flagship project Central Yards, a new landmark on the Central Harbourfront, has recently introduced French architect and artist Emmanuelle Moureaux’s iconic installation “100 Colors No.54 <Flow>” at the temporary pedestrian passage connecting the IFC Mall and Central Pier. This transforms an ordinary walkway into an immersive artistic experience, injecting fresh vibrancy and color into the harbourfront.
The colorful installation is suspended at the entrance connecting to IFC Mall. It is composed of about 4,000 hand-dyed and cut cards in one hundred shades, forming layers of floating numbers that create a three-dimensional space with depth. The work arranges numbers vertically along a timeline from 2027 to 2032, echoing the opening phases of Central Yards, and cleverly incorporates the words “Central Yards.” Through the interplay of color and structure, it evokes the imagery of time in motion. As pedestrians pass through, they feel as if walking into a flowing time tunnel, experiencing the rhythm of the city and imagining its future between the tangible and the abstract.
This artistic presentation not only brings a fresh visual transformation to the temporary passage but also reflects Central Yards’ vision of integrating art into the Central Harbourfront and enhancing the quality of public space.
